Here is a tutorial to submit your films to SSF via Spotrights.
- Preparation
- STEP1. Create an account for Spotrights (Only first time applicants required).
- STEP2. Login to Spotrights, and add your films' information to Spotrights' database.
- STEP3. Submit your film to SSF(One Title Section) via Spotrights
- STEP3. Submit your films to SSF(Filmmaker Section) via Spotrights
- STEP4．Print out the entry sheet, sign it, and send it by post with 1 DVD for preview.
Preparation
- Before submitting your film, confirm that you have read and understand our terms and regulations.
STEP1. Create an account for Spotrights (Only first time applicants required).
1 Access to this page, at first click the 'English' button to switch language (because the default language of the page is Japanese), fill out the form, and click 'NEXT' button. 
2 On next page, you can confirm the validity of the form's input.If all inputs OK, click 'Registration' button. 
3 If you've received a password via email, your account creation has completed successfully. - If you didn't receive a password via email, make sure you check your SPAM or JUNK MAIL box.

STEP2. Login to Spotrights, and add your films' information to Spotrights' database.
1 At the top page of Spotrights,you can find the 'Film Maker Login' form on top of the right column.Please login using the form. 
2 If you successfully loged in, you will see 'My Film List' and 'Competition List' box.That is your Home page. 
3 Click the 'Add a Film' button of the navigation bar. 
4 At first, you can see 'Basic Information' form. Please fill in your film's information. 'Title in English' field is required. The other fields are optional, please fill out them as needed. After you've fill out the form, click the "Save & NEXT" button. 
5 If you successfully saved your inputs, you can see next page 'Film Information1'. 
- After saving the basic information of your film, you can edit all information about the film whenever you like.
6 In a similar procedure, you can put your films' information to the Spotrights' database step by step.(The last page is 'Attacjments')
It's the best that all fields of all forms about the film filled out completely before sumbission, but If it's difficult for you, you can fill in some fields of some forms after submission. The required filelds that you should fill in before submission are as follows.
Basic Information : Title in English Film Infomation1 : Completion Year and Month Run Time Production Country dialogue or commentaries (no / yes) Film Information2 : Genre Type Screening Format-Video Summary Producer / Director : Director Producer Film Rights : Music rights (cleared or not) World wide Film rights (available or not)

STEP3. Submit your film to SSF via Spotrights
Submit to One Title Section
1 Login to Spotrights, mouse over the 'Submit Films' button of the navigation bar, so you can see sub-menu appeared.Click the 'Film-festival' link of sub-menu. 
2 Then you can see the list of film festivals that you can submit via Spotrights. Choose the 'Sapporo Short Fest 2009[One Title Section]' link and click it. 
3 You can see the list of your films you added before. Choose the film that you want to submit and click its 'ENTRY' button. 
4 Answer some additional questions from the Festival office, and click the 'SUBMIT' button. 
5 If your submission completed successfully, The color of text of submitted film on the list change blue. If your submission failed, some error message may appear in red. You should read the error message carefully, click the 'MODIFY This Film' button, and modify the information to resolve the error message.

Submit to Filmmaker Section
1 Login to Spotrights, mouse over the 'Submit Films' button of the navigation bar, so you can see sub-menu appeared.Click the 'Film-festival' link of sub-menu. 2 Then you can see the list of film festivals that you can submit via Spotrights. Choose the 'Sapporo Short Fest 2009[Filmmaker Section]' link and click it. 
3 You can see the list of your films you added before. Choose all the films that you want to submit and click their check boxes. make sure that you checked more than 3 films, and their total run time is less than 45 minutes. you can see the total run time of checked films (automatically figure out) on the right side of the bottom of the list. 
4 Fill sequence numbers in the fields next to the check boxes for screening order. 
5 Answer some additional questions from the Festival office, and click the 'SUBMIT' button. 
6 If your submission completed successfully, The color of text of submitted film on the list change blue. If your submission failed, some error message may appear in red. You should read the error message carefully, and modify the answers to the questions to resolve the error message.

STEP4. Print out the entry sheet, sign it, and send it by post with 1 DVD for preview.
1 Login to Spotrights, and click the 'Submission Status' button of the navigation bar. 
2 You can see the status of all the submitted entries. Choose the entry and click its 'PDF' button to download the entry sheet PDF file of the film. 
3 A moment later, your browser will prompt you to save the file. Use the procedure appropriate for your browser to save the PDF file on your computer. 
4 After completed download, open and print out the PDF file. 5 Sign your signature in the field at the end of the sheet. 6 Send signed printed version of the entry sheet and 1 DVD copy for preview by post to SSF2009 festival office.
